Read Write Rendezvous is modeled after the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat.
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the first Christian Fiction Readers Retreat held on August 24, 2016, in Nashville. This event was built on the foundation of avid reader Bonnie Roof’s years of prayer for an opportunity to bring readers and authors together. She and book bloggers “Annie JC” of Just Commonly and “MeezCarrie” of Reading Is My SuperPower shared a passion for Christian fiction and a desire to foster interaction among authors and readers. Their plans to host a brunch quickly expanded to accommodate over 100 enthusiastic readers and authors that year as they became the stewards of CFRR. After CFRR’s inaugural event, the stewards organized two additional gatherings: Cincinnati in 2017 and the D.C. metro area of Maryland in 2019. Their efforts inspired the creation of similar gatherings, including Rendezvous.
A Legacy Lives On
Our celebration of the CFRR legacy will continue with @justreadtours social media posts throughout the year and culminate with a special homecoming at the fourth annual Read Write Rendezvous.
