Application Information for Author Participants

2024 event and participation information is not yet finalized. Applications will open by late March.

Thank you for your interest in joining us at the second annual JustRead Rendezvous! This event aims to sweeten reading and storytelling experiences with fellowship and encouragement.

JustRead Rendezvous Author Application 2024

Author application is open to published authors of the Christian fiction and sweet read genres exclusively (if any of your available titles include coarse language, explicitly, or content potentially offensive to conservative readers, please contact the organizer). Traditionally and independently published authors are eligible, but for bookstore/signing purposes, your books must be available in print to participate as an author.

Authors are welcome to donate books, swag, and other items for giveaways. Donations provide additional promotion for authors and books, plus reading enjoyment, inspiration, and blessing for the readers. If interested in donating, please specify what you will contribute and the amount on the application form. Book donations are used as giveaways during the event or subsequent giveaways related to the event.

All funds collected for Rendezvous are used for the logistics of this event including but not limited to the venue, event marketing, event gifts, catering, etc. All fees & donations collected will be used to pay for services and prizes related to this and future JustRead events. Allocation of funds is at the organizer’s discretion for the sole purpose of this event.

The Participation Fee for the Main Event (Friday, November 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) includes:

  • Entry to the 2024 JustRead Rendezvous Main Event on November 15, 2024, including speaker sessions, at least (3) author panels, small group sessions, interactive games, and the opportunity to meet and chat with fellow authors and readers.
  • Please note, due to limited space on activities,  NOT all authors will be able to participate directly in author panels or games. Audience participation and engagement (including authors not directly involved) are encouraged. Author activity assignments and the final schedule will be announced at a later date.
  • Author signing at the end of the day
  • A book tote full of swag from authors, publishers, sponsors, and JustRead
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon snack
  • Numerous opportunities to win giveaways donated by authors and sponsors throughout the day
  • One entry into the Grand Prize giveaway for the event
  • 10% Discount on Rendezvous event program ad placement
  • Featured in a news post on this website
  • No more than 3 titles combined will be featured from each participating author

Please Note: Travel & hotel accommodations are not included in the participation fee. A discounted rate for accommodations will be available for Rendezvous attendees. We have a limited number of rooms blocked off for this event at the hotel venue. For more information, see the 2024 event page.

Additional Information

Payment
Full payment is required to secure your registration. An Intuit Quickbooks payment link will be provided to approved applicants. Proper identification with a photo may be required to sign in on the event date. Registration is non-transferable on the day of the event. You may contact us before the event date to transfer registration to someone else.

Cancelation
Cancelations are available on a case-by-case basis before October 1, 2024. Registration fees will be refunded via payment made, secure direct bank transfer, or mailed check minus the cancelation fee as noted. Cancelations after October 1, 2024, will not be refunded.

Dietary Options / Allergies
Dietary alternatives may not be available. Please note that this event is NOT a nut-free or soy-free event/environment.

Author Signing
Each attendee is allowed to bring no more than 3 personal (outside) copies of each author’s books, with a maximum of 10 books total for signing, please. More books will be available to purchase at the event throughout the day. An unlimited amount of books purchased at the event is permitted for signing.

Bookseller
JustRead Publicity Tours, LLC will operate a consignment event for a limited number of titles per participating author.

Photography & Videotaping Policy
Photography & videotaping will take place at the event. Only event-appointed videographers are allowed to take videos/motion pictures within the event. By participating in this event, you are granting JustRead permission to use photos or videos captured at the event that you may be present or visible in for marketing purposes relating to this or future JustRead events only. Attendees are welcome to take pictures during the event and/or create videos outside of event areas.

Age Requirements
This event is only open to adults aged 18 or older and young people ages 13 through 17.  However, attendees must be at least 18 to attend this event without a parent or guardian present at all times.

Waiting List
A waiting list for this year’s event will be available once the initial author/reader threshold has been reached.
